Junior Achievement of Northern Michigan Receives Funding from Cadillac Area Community Foundation and Missaukee Area Community Foundation

CADILLAC, MICHIGAN- Junior Achievement of Northern Michigan (JANM) is pleased to announce it was awarded funding from Cadillac’s Youth Advisory Committee and Missaukee’s Youth Advisory Committee for the 2025-2026 school year. These funds were directly used to bring financial literacy programs to area classrooms in the region. Junior Achievement’s programs, in the core content areas of financial literacy, career readiness and entrepreneurship ignite the spark in young people to experience and realize the opportunities and realities of life in the 21st century.

“Through this opportunity, grant funds were used to expand our local outreach in each county and build long-lasting relationships with educators, volunteers, and students,” said Chris

Crawley, Program Coordinator. In Wexford County, teacher partnerships grew significantly resulting in five times the number of students impacted over 2024-2025. In Missaukee County, JANM was able to double the teacher partnerships and students impacted.

Lake City Elementary teacher Jen Nichols shared, “I was super pleased with the program, and the kids really enjoyed it as well. The volunteer was wonderful! She came prepared and knew the material- interacted well with the kids and was able to give some insight into what her job is like. I would love to have the program and the volunteer back again next year.”

Junior Achievement’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy by providing work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship programs to K-12 students.
